Mid June I sat down in the kitchen to have breakfast with my boys and a sweet picture of a mother holding her baby caught my eye in the Dallas Morning News. As I read the article my heart was breaking. This poor little girl in the picture had just lost her twin sister, they were both diagnosed with a rare and deadly disease called Niemann-Pick Disease Type C (NPC) shortly after their 1st birthday. Her sister, Corynne died at 20 months. My heart broke…how can this little sweet girl understand where her sister went!!! I immediately jumped on their website and offered the family a session to capture some lasting memories with Catherine. We meet a couple days later. I am so honored to have had the opportunity to meet Catherine, she made a lasting impression on me.
I pray that the photographs bring some comfort to this family in these hard times. Little Cathryn passed about a month after our session. I would like to try in the efforts of raising awareness and to help raise a million dollar in hoping to find a cure for Niemann-Pick Disease. Please visit their website for more information and to make a donation…like the mother put it if 100,000 people donate $10, they will reach their goal!
